Plot

Amy Mitchell (Mila Kunis) is a married woman in the suburbs of Chicago with two children, Jane (Oona Laurence) and Dylan (Emjay Anthony), who feel overworked and over-talked. She works as a sales rep for the "hip" coffee company, prepares a hand-packed healthy lunch for her children, does most of their homework, goes to all of their extracurricular activities, and is active in her school's PTA, run by Gwendolyn James (Christina Applegate) and his cronies, Stacy (Jada Pinkett Smith) and Vicky (Annie Mumolo). When she catches her husband, Mike (David Walton) has an affair with a camgirl, Amy releases it and tries to keep everything together.

After a very stressful day, Amy publicly quit the PTA in response to the overzealous sales plan of the Gwendolyn cake. In a nearby bar, Amy meets Carla (Kathryn Hahn), a casual and sexually active single mom, and Kiki (Kristen Bell), a mother who lives in a four-man home that worships Amy's difference from Gwendolyn. Amy and Carla are upset about knowing that Kiki's husband dominates and expects her to take care of all the children and the house without any help, while Amy and Kiki are distracted by Carla's approach to being so out of parenting. The trio starts an all-night attack that inspires Amy to loosen up with her children: she takes them up in Mike's classic car, brings them lunch from Arby, forces Dylan to fight on his own so he's not lazy and entitled, and takes Jane overachieving and constantly stressed for a day spa. Amy herself decides to start dating but finds herself inexperienced because of her early marriage and motherhood. He finally broke up with Jessie (Jay Hernandez), a handsome widower at school who has a crush on him.

After Amy brought the donut hole bought at the store to the sale of the cake, she drew the anger of Gwendolyn, who used her PTA authority to get Jane from the football team. Amy is angry, and decides to run for president of the PTA against Gwendolyn. The welcome at Amy's house attracted only one visitor, who told them Gwendolyn had launched a rival party in her own home, served by Martha Stewart. Nevertheless, other mothers, and Martha, quickly abandoned Gwendolyn's party when it became clear that she intended to give a talk to them throughout the night, leading to a successful feast at Amy's home.

Gwendolyn responded by putting the medicine in Jane's locker, which made her expelled from all extracurricular activities. Jane and Dylan both go to live with Mike (who has agreed to divorce peacefully) in response to what they see as Amy's failure as a mother. Amy loses her job because her boss refuses to understand her reasons for taking time off.

Anxious Amy stayed at home during the PTA election but was raised by Carla and Kiki, who eventually defended her husband and ordered her to handle everything alone until the meeting was over. At the event, Amy gave an inspiring speech about how all the mothers work excessively and that they need to take time off, do fewer and fewer stressful events, and most importantly, allow themselves to make mistakes. Amy wins the landslide and eventually ends up cheering Gwendolyn who is devastated, revealing that her life is not as perfect as she claims and that being responsible for the PTA is the only way to vent her anger at the problem she faces..

A few weeks later, Amy's approach has caused a positive change: Jane has been reinstated to the football team and is less stressed, Dylan actually implements herself, Kiki makes her husband help take care of their children, Carla is more responsible and hands-on, and all Other mothers, including Stacy and Vicky, feel more excited. Amy herself regains her job with much better compensation after her boss sees how she has taken it for granted, and she continues to see Jessie. Gwendolyn invites Amy, Carla, and Kiki to have fun on her husband's private jet.

The ultimate credit plays over the players who interviewed their real life moms.

Club ' s Jesse Hassenger believes that Bad Moms "sells the characters' battles short by dragging their children off the screen whenever it's easy, and not even in the name of a funny negligence, there's always time and money to get a nanny.
