TBS began carrying all the Division Serie matches and one of two League Championship Series (assuming the rights of Fox and ESPN ) as well as the announcement of the All-Star team and any games that allow to determine the division winners and the wild card team (they are also done previously in ESPN). In 2008, TBS began broadcasting regular MLB games on Sunday, provided that no team appeared on the show more than 13 times during the season.
During the transition year of 2007, TBS aired 70 regular Braves games of the season. In 2008, the number of Braves broadcasts was reduced to just 45 games, with the former Atlanta feed TBS, WPCH-TV only airing; Turner syndicated packets to television stations and other cable channels to broadcast in the rest of Braves designated market areas. The last Braves game to be aired on TBS was aired on September 30, 2007, with the first division playoff game being aired the next day on October 1, 2007 (when the TBS/WPCH split occurred).
On October 18, 2008, technical issues at the channel master control facility in Atlanta prevented TBS from showing off the first inning Game 6 Serie of the American League Championship between Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays; the channel is showing a rerun episode of The Steve Harvey Show instead.
Beach Volley
As part of a multi-year deal with Turner Sports, the NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship is broadcast by TBS in 2016 and 2017.
College basket
In 2011, TBS gained television broadcast rights for the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship, with broadcast rights shared with CBS, and fellow Turner, TNT and TruTV properties. TBS and two other Turner-owned networks are currently broadcasting games played in the second and third rounds of the tournament, with TBS changing coverage with CBS for the Regional Semifinals (Sweet Sixteen). In 2014 and 2015, TBS and CBS divided the coverage of the Regional Final (Elite Eight), with TBS getting two matches Saturday night and CBS retaining two games Sunday afternoon. Also in 2014 and 2015, TBS covers the National Semifinal (Final Four). In 2016, TBS broadcast the Final Four and National Championship Game events, starting an alternative agreement with CBS until 2024. In the even years, TBS is now broadcasting the last three games, and in the strange years, CBS broadcast the game.
College soccer
College football games from the Big 12 and Pac-10 athletics conferences aired on TBS for several years starting in 2000 through a sub-license agreement with Fox Sports. The deal ended after the 2006 season.
National Basketball Association
The NBA basketball game aired on TBS from 1984 until broadcasting rights were completely transferred to TNT in 2002. Some games from the Atlanta Hawks (also owned by Turner) are shown on TBS until airing on TNT and a TBS superstation feed is subject to lethal in 35 miles from the home team arena; this restriction is imposed when TNT gets the right to be the exclusive announcer of any game it chooses to carry.
NASCAR
Select the NASCAR Winston Cup, Busch Series and Craftsman Truck Series that aired on TBS until the 2000 season. For the past few years in the late 1990s, the only Cup that was broadcast on TBS were two regular Cup races from Lowe Motor Speedway (TBS no has the rights to The Winston, which is usually broadcast on TNN), and the July race at Pocono Raceway. TBS is also home to a post-season exhibition race held at Suzuka Circuit and Twin Ring Motegi line in Japan from 1996 to 1998. The NASCAR event moved to TNT in 2001 as part of an agreement between the NBC and TNT organizations, although the original plan is for TBS to bring the race. Instead, Turner Broadcasting decided that NASCAR's broadcast would be better suited to TNT's "We Know Drama" image campaign.
European football
Beginning in the fall of 2018, TBS will begin bringing the UEFA Champions League, possibly with TNT and TruTV, as part of a three-year agreement between Turner Sports and UEFA under a three-year deal, replacing long-term agreements with Fox Sports for American rights for football club competition major European.
Professional wrestling
The professional wrestling that aired from 1971 to 2001 under several different wrestling promotions included Jim Barnett-owned Georgia Championship Wrestling (1971-1984), Vince McMahon World Wrestling Federation (1984-1985), Mid-South Bill Watts Wrestling, and Jim Crockett , Jr. Jim Crockett Promotions (1985-1988), who eventually became Turner-World Championship Wrestling (1988-2001). On September 23, 2015, Turner Broadcasting announced that it is planning a Counter-Strike league: Global Offensive early 2016. There is also the possibility of other video games being added in the coming season. This is not the first time TBS has run a video-centric game program; he brought the Starcade game show from 1982 to 1983 (with further syndication through Turner Program Services until 1984), where people competed to win their own arcade cabinet by playing various games.
