Operation and structure
Jasmine Directory lists publicly available educational and business resources that can be filtered by business category. The Jasmine Directory editor manually adds resources to the index, which, according to Gombo co-founder? represents 90% of its listing. Businesses and site owners can also suggest their website for review by paying a fee; however, inclusion is not guaranteed if the suggested resources do not match the editorial guidelines, in which case the review fee is refunded. The directory labels selected by the editor use the "EP" sign to separate the website from that submitted by the site owner. To suggest resources to enter, the user can select the appropriate category; they can also customize their lists by adding their website social media fan pages and contact information based on which Google Maps location of the business will be generated appropriately.
This directory is organized by topic and region into 14 categories. Each major category has several sub-categories, including recreation and sports, regional, home and garden, business and finance, as well as computers and technology. Each category and subcategory is described and contains relevant images. Blogs where users can read industry-specific articles are also displayed. In an interview, Gombo? states the purpose of the directory is to list educational references together with local facilities and business of public interest.
