Dell's Studio brand is a range of laptops and desktops targeted at the mainstream consumer market. The computer is on top of Dell Inspiron and below the XPS consumer line in price and specification. They differ from Dell's lower Inspiron models by offering slot-loading optical drives, media buttons, more cover design options, faster processor options, HDMI and eSATA ports, LED backlit and backlit screens.
At launch, the Studio is offered in three models: Studio 15 and Studio 17 are named for their respective screen sizes in inches, and the Studio Hybrid, named for the use of laptop components in a form of ultra-small form factor. When purchased online, many customizable colors, designs and features, including fingerprint scanners in some countries.
On July 29, 2008, Dell introduced a desktop partner to Dell Studio Laptop, Dell Studio Hybrid PC. The legacy desktop PC is compact and free to use laptop components, it contains the same slot-loading optical drive as the laptop with the range of connectivity (eg, number of USB ports) expected from a desktop PC.
On September 24, 2009, Dell released a Studio laptop with an option for the Core i7 mobile processor, although the Pentium Dual-Core and Core 2 Duo options are still available as a bottom-end option.
On June 18, 2010, the Dell website stopped selling Studio Hybrid.
In May 2011, Dell has suspended its line of Studio notebooks. Studio XPS and Studio desktop lines continue.

Studio XPS 13
The 13.3 "Laptop that offers the Studio-XPS crossover, runs on DDR3 memory and uses the Intel Core 2 Duo processor. When launched, Studio XPS 13 is widely recognized as the ultimate notebook, offering an unrivaled combination of technology, cutting-edge design, performance, and the luxury style in the increasingly popular market for lighter notebooks. All of its attributes, and its wide success, make it even more surprising, if not suspicious, when Dell suddenly stops Studio XPS 13 model, less than a year after its launch, leaving many potential owners hold their credit cards, and many current owners keep watch over their valuables. The latent technical problem, derived from relatively small notebook chassis packs a lot of sophisticated hardware Many designers are just trying to pack too much power into the 13 inch model. In the lightweight notebook arena, even an inch can even memb uat difference, so sacrifice must be made. Among the widely reported issues is overheating in the area of ââthe vent and video card, where the heat spreads to the palm of the hand and the bottom of the screen. A more serious problem is with a slot-loading optical drive; the device just does not match the 13 inch shell. But as a result of the sudden cessation of the model, users who are in the market for the Studio XPS 13 model are lightly left with some alternatives, if any. In fact, the only suitable replacement is Studio XPS 16.
Studio XPS 16
Larger version of Studio XPS 13 (16 "). It offers an optional Blu-ray optical drive, and has a 1080p Full HD RGBLED screen (1920ÃÆ' â â¬" 1080), which is widely regarded as the best display on any laptop in the market. It's available with an Intel Core i7 CPU with two options for video cards, both of which have 1 GB of video memory: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670 or 5730.

Specifications
Problem
The Studio 15 models (older 1535, 1536 and 1537) and 17 (1735, 1736 and 1737) have problems with touch sensitive controls where the start or start button for Dell MediaDirect will remain on for a few minutes after the unit is turned on, rendering the rest button is useless. However, firmware updates for this media panel installed in the Dell Community forum have been reported to correct this problem. Another solution to this problem is to turn off the laptop and remove the battery, then press the power button for 30 seconds to completely disconnect all remaining electrical power in the system, drain the residual power of the bug.
Some users reported video card issues with Studio 1555 and Studio 1557, later found as the wrong driver. Other problems with this model include overheating due to heatsinks and difficult-to-maintain fan designs located so that general computer users can not access heatsinks and fans for cleaning or other maintenance.
The 1557 and 1558 models are known to have problems with overheating, which are typically associated with 3D games or other applications involving 3D graphics. Downloading the ATI Catalyst driver and the latest BIOS update will help reduce the risk of this problem. 1557 and 1558 are influenced by hard-to-maintain components, which make it difficult to clean clogged heatsink plugs or to clean and replace thermal pastes due to a combination of fan and heatsink design.
There are also some reports of 1557 models that freeze during boot, or have an inaccessible hard drive. There are no obvious causes or improvements made by Dell, but may also be related to overheating associated with internal video cards, or software hardware damage associated with the internal Microelectronics ST accelerator, which should protect the hard drive if the laptop is dropped. One proven method to avoid this problem is to remove ST Microelectronics drivers, thus disabling hard drive protection functions. Keeping the BIOS up to date is also said to reduce risk.
There are also complaints on 17 "laptops with keyboard and sound malfunctions as well. However, the problem is found to be a corrupted driver. You can easily fix it by updating the drivers or reinstalling them. This helps many users, but some users have non-driver problems caused by bad manufacturing.
