Fleet

In May 2018, Norwegian Long Haul operates an all-Dreamliner fleet:

CEO of the Norwegian Air Shuttle BjÃÆ'¸rn Kjos attended a meeting with Polish politicians in April 2013 about possible acquisition of LOT Polish Airlines, sparking speculation related to Norwegian Air Shuttle's interest in acquiring more Boeing 787 Dreamliners. During an interview with The Wall Street Journal in July 2014, BjÃÆ'¸rn Kjos hinted to buy 20 787-9 Dreamliners again, with shipments from 2018, although the company declined to confirm the plan of this order. In October 2015 the airline confirmed that they had booked 19 787-9 Dreamliner again.

Dreamliners airline was originally registered in Ireland and the Civil Aviation Authority of Norway has given Norwegian Air Shuttle a temporary exception to operate foreign registered aircraft. All 787-8 have been re-registered in Norway, while 787-9 are registered between Norway and the UK.

Criticism

Flight delay

From the start-up of the airline in May 2013, 73 of 97 New York and Bangkok arrivals to Oslo were postponed until September 2013 and two of the aircraft were later convicted of technical problems. Norwegian Long Haul was widely criticized in the media for delays and lack of care for the suffering passengers. The airline's response to criticism varies from profound apologies to ignoring and blaming aircraft manufacturers and maintenance sub-contractors. Several different sources claim Norway has been using too tight fleet schedules with Boeing Dreamliners, as it only uses 3 planes for 3 different continents, but the airline disagrees. One of the airline's technical employees and head of Aircraft Engineers International, Norway, was later threatened by the airline with a work stoppage for answering publicly the cause of the many delays with the Dreamliners airline as a risk calculated by Norway's Long Haul.

Norwegian Long Haul wets two Airbus A340-300s from Hi Fly in 2013, but still peaks at the end of the year, with a 24-hour delay on the New York-Oslo route. In early January 2014, the airline refused to use their Dreamliner beyond their operational capabilities and noted that it had set timeliness as their goal for 2014.

Related workers

On the recommendation of the largest Norwegian aircraft union, the Parat union, Norway, requested the Norwegian government in 2012 with the threat of exit from abroad and demanded the right to lease (and non-EU) flights in Asia and cabin crew without work permits and residence permits from Norway. CEO BjÃÆ'¸rn Kjos claimed the Norwegian [Norwegian] crew was too expensive for international routes and the airline later said it would be able to secure jobs in Norway with the right, even though the union itself was not given insight into specific questions made by airlines. Norway's largest union umbrella organization, the Norwegian Workers Union Confederation, threatened to boycott the airline if Norwegian rights requested were granted by the Norwegian government.

The permission was not granted to airlines and Norway obtained Irish registration for inter-operative operations as a separate separate airline that allowed them to hire Thai flight attendants through an employment agency (Adecco) in Thailand. This is felt by the Parat union, the Norwegian Trade Union Confederation, the Minister of Labor and the Labor Party as social accumulation, deliberately undermining Norwegian work rights. With an intercontinental plane now enrolled in Ireland, was rejected by the airline as an exit flag because it was previously threatened, the airline focused its response to critics related to trade unions and politics by comparing the salaries of crew members to the average total wage in the country. from the hired servants. In October 2013, the Norwegian Trade Unions Confederation revealed it would not renew its business deal with Norway.
