Seymour Direct is a UK payment processing company. It provides online payment solutions as a Sagepay developer

as well as sales point credit card processing solutions for small to medium sized businesses. They partner with the 3 most famous banks in the UK, Elavon, First Data, and Worldpay to help provide the same business opportunities with big branded stores with payment facilities.

When a merchant orders a PDQ terminal from Seymour Direct, they are assigned the appropriate terminal for their business, which includes the safest card-processing tool, known as "Chip and Pin" payments. The latter involves matching the customer pin code against a unique electronic chip on each customer's debit card, swipe the magnetic stripe card available in the former case being damaged, allowing the trader to resume trading.

The company headquarters is based in Hertfordshire, with additional offices in South Wales. The current CEO is Martin Roberts.

History

Seymour Direct was formed in 1987 by an independent retailer to negotiate lower tariffs for credit card processing, their goal being to lighten small to high-cost high-end businesses set by high street banks. Although they offer their services for larger businesses, their main clients are B & B's and Beauty Salons.

In 2011 Seymour Direct won the prestigious Elavon European Partner award for outstanding performance because of their ethical approach to merchant services.

In 2013 Seymour Direct is the first merchant service provider to offer touch-net payment terminals that can be leased directly by a small business without the need to apply for PayWave or PayCave Visa brand name.

Seymour Direct is now one of the leading independent sales organizations in the UK that distribute credit and debit card processing services to small to medium sized businesses.
