One America News Network (abbreviated as OANN ), also referred to as One America News (abbreviated as OAN ), is an American conservative cable news cable channel launched on July 4, 2013 owned by Herring Networks, Inc. The network is headquartered in San Diego, California, and operates news agencies in Washington, DC and New York City.
Originally launched with the aim of targeting conservative and middle-right audiences, OAN declared the goal of delivering credible national and international news coverage throughout the day while prime time political talk shows portray a conservative perspective. According to the Washington Post , this channel has risen to prominence due to its pro-Trump coverage.

Formation
The establishment of the organization was announced on March 14, 2013 by Herring Networks, Inc., an independent and family owned video programming company owning and operating OAN and sister channel AWE (formerly WealthTV; initialism became the acronym for "A Wealth" Entertainment "). starting in 2013, it has a limited partnership with The Washington Times .
The network was launched with the aim of targeting a conservative-leaning audience with OAN President Charles Herring telling CPAC that, "Fox News has done a remarkable job of serving middle-right and independent audiences... But those who consider themselves liberal have half dozens or more choices on TV every day to get their news. "Herring also emphasized the separation of the news content network and opinions, with live news reports throughout the day and limited opinion comments from nightly talk shows, including The Daily Ledger hosted by Graham Ledger and The Tipping Point hosted by Liz Wheeler. Initial ads for the channel praised the lack of network comments and focused on live news reporting. The channel was officially launched on July 4, 2013.
In August 2017, One America News Network reached 35 million homes and had a national distribution from DirecTV, DirecTV Now, Verizon FiOS TV, AT & amp; T U-verse, Frontier Communications, CenturyLink PRISM TV, and many regional video distributors.
Early years
In July 2014, OAN moved the news and production studio from The Washington Times Building to its new location on 101 Constitution Avenue NW, near the United States Capitol. The move ended OAN's relationship with The Washington Times , which provided news and analysis, as well as lease arrangements, for the network. Although the Washington Bureau was previously located in the Times building, OAN remains wholly owned and operated, including all editorial control, by Herring Networks, Inc.

On August 19, 2015, Lahren completed his last performance at OAN. On the week of August 24, former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin hosted a program on the network.
Reception
In March 2015, USC professor Marty Kaplan praised the network for its focus on what it saw as impartial coverage, writing at The Huffington Post, "Ten minutes OAN told me eight stories, 10 minutes from Fox or MSNBC told me one story, to make me angry "while noting that his segment of opinion" as delusions and burners like anything on conservative or Fox talk radio. "Don Kaplan of the New York Daily News echoed sentiment Similarly, writing in December 2016, "it's by far one of the fairest news outlets around, serving daily food free advertising, non-ideological, nonstop news - without grinning, snarky anchors or much fanfare" while stating that his opinion segment "leaning to the right." Pro-Trump Content
This channel is known for its pro-Trump coverage. Robert Herring, Sr., founder and CEO of the network, has ordered manufacturers to promote certain types of content, such as pro-Trump stories, anti-Clinton stories and anti-abortion stories, and minimize the story of Russian interference in 2016 presidential elections. According to a number of former employees currently on the channel, as well as internal emails, channel executives have "directed his channel to encourage Trump's nomination, tackle stories about police shootings, encourage anti-abortion stories, minimize the scope of Russian aggression, and move away from the problems of the new president." presidential campaign in 2016, the channel held a special event titled "Betrayal in Benghazi: The Cost of Hillary Clinton Dereliction and Greed." Herring, the channel owner, sent the producer on the channel a report that falsely claimed that Hillary Clinton had a brain tumor, and asked them to check it out. In October 2017, the channel said without evidence that "reports" had been published showing "US Crimes Increase by 13% Each Year Amid the Spread of Radical Islamic Terror". President Trump then repeated this mistake, showing that he learned from OAN.
In June 2017, One America News was given a permanent seat in the White Brady James Brady briefing room. White House Correspondent Chief Trey Yingst is one of the top five most-called journalists covering the Trump Administration. One America News has been repeatedly summoned by President Trump during Presidential press conferences, including one in February 2017 when Yingst asked the President about his campaign contacts with the Russian government. Also in February 2017, One America News was invited to a lunch network with President Trump. During an August 2017 press conference with Finnish President Sauli NiinistÃÆ'¶, Trump's President praised One America News stating, "... I want to congratulate you on the network. In the midst of praise from the President of the United States, Herring states that One America News considers itself to be a tough but fair presence in the White House press corps.
In February 2018, one of the hosts at OAN tweeted a conspiracy theory that a 17-year-old survivor in the shooting of Stoneman Douglas High School had been trained to speak out against Trump by the father of a retired FBI agent. Donald Trump Jr. liked the OAN masters tweet. The 17-year-old responded, describing conspiracy theories as "immature, abusive, and inhuman".
Roy Moore reports of sexual controversy
After Washington Post reported allegations against Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore that he had sexually abused or made unlawful contact with a number of women under the age of 18 (including a 14 year old), One America News "to sources of coverage and positive stories that can cast doubt on his accusers. In April 2018, while on a tour led by the al-Assad regime in the Douma chemical attack area, an OAN correspondent said there was no evidence that a chemical attack had occurred.
