The above product is branded UBD before the 2012 edition when the production of a separate Gregory directory directory stops supporting the UBD-Gregory directory that maintains the UBD format, with the exception of the Darwin directory that is still published in Gregory format. The last stand-alone directory of Gregory is the Sydney edition of the 75th Edition Sydney edition, published in 2011.
Comprehensive directory
Although primarily a street directory, UBD and Gregory also contain details about public transport (light rail and trains, tickets and prices), bike lanes, subway and postcode details, parks and general reserves, landmarks (such as commercial buildings, telephone boxes, pubs and restaurants), attractions, as well as the details of the mooring boats on the known docks. They also include university campus and crematorium maps. Prior to the merger of UBD-Gregory, the UBD Compact road directory also contains 'Cityside guides' with tourist information.
Cartography
Render roads in most city and city maps using traditional images of two lines with street names printed in between, (known as 'double casing'). In the Melbourne UBD directory map shows a single line with the name above or below the road to make it more appealing to people familiar with the Melway road directory. This mapping style is also used for road map and main road map maps.
