beIN Sports ( "English respelling pronunciation"> BEE -in ) is a global network of sports channels owned and operated by beIN Media Group, a spin-off from Al Jazeera Media Network.
beIN currently operates three full-time channels in the Middle East (where BeIN Sports is launched for the first time) - beIN Sports 1, beIN Sports 2, beIN Sports 3 and 7 additional channels named beIN Sports MAX (4 to 10) - and two starts channels in the United States (UK and Spain) in August 2012. It launched a live online streaming service in Canada in October 2013 followed by a full channel on January 31, 2014, after several years of delays due to Canada's regulatory environment. It currently operates one channel and beIN Sports MAX 1-8 in Spain dedicated to football from July 2015 owned by Media Group but operated by Mediapro.
In France, beIN Sports holds the right to broadcast major football tournaments on French television, including Ligue 1, Serie A, Bundesliga, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and European Football Championship.
In the United States and Canada, beIN Sports holds the right to broadcast La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1, Copa del Rey (excluding final), CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifiers and Football League and Real Madrid Championship games, in addition to major motorcycle racing championships (MotoGP, World Superbike, MotoAmerica).
In Indonesia, beIN Sports holds the right to broadcast La Liga, Ligue 1, Major League Soccer (MLS), and with MP & amp; Silva bridges the Premier League partnership until 2019.
In Malaysia, beIN Sports offers comprehensive coverage of the European Football League including La Liga, Ligue 1 and more.
In Hong Kong, BeIN Sports holds the rights to broadcast Serie A, Ligue 1, Major League Soccer (MLS), Soccer League Championships, Football League Cup, TIM Cup, Ligue Cup, in addition to Spurs TV, Milan TV.

The channel was launched in Australia in late November 2014, after the acquisition of Setanta Sports Australia, renamed BeIN Sports. beIN Sports Australia holds the right to broadcast UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, Capital One Cup, La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1, Bundesliga, MLS and RBS Six States. On March 14, 2016, BeIN Sports Australia expanded from one to three channels, all in HD, and as of May 15, 2016 is available to all Foxtel sports subscribers, rather than the original surcharge for one SD channel. Fetcher customers still only have access to beIN Sports 1, which is an additional fee every month.
BeIN Connect, also known as BeIN Sports Connect, is an over-the-top content service (OTT) that begins in 2014. It allows users to watch live and on-demand video content from Mac, Windows PC, mobile phone, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 or PlayStation 4 via a broadband internet connection or Wi-Fi. Al Jazeera Media Network entered the European broadcast rights market in June 2011 when it purchased a package of Ligue 1 French football matches from 2012 to 2016 for EUR90 million a year. The deal leaves them with domestic football announcers in France along with long-term rights holders Canal. The broadcaster also earned the right to pay TV to UEFA Champions League, Europa League from 2012 to 2015, Euro 2012 and Euro 2016 in France. France was targeted as Al Jazeera's first access to Europe due to the fact that there is no special sports channel, unlike in England.
The name "BeIN Sports" was first revealed in early 2012. According to Nasser Al-Khelaifi, director of Al Jazeera Sports, the name "symbolizes the thoughts of two channels aimed at bringing the live and exclusive broadcast of the greatest event." Former Canal executive Charles Bietry was hired by Al Jazeera to launch the channel. Channels will be available on all cable providers and IPTV and selected satellite providers. CanalSat - owned by the Canal Group - has refused to bring the channel in March 2012.
BeIN Sports 1 was launched on June 1, 2012 to broadcast Euro 2012. BeIN Sports 2 starts on July 27, 2012 in time to broadcast France's Ligue 2 season, and before the start of the 2012-13 Ligue 1 season.

In France, beIN Sports holds one of five rights packages for Ligue 1 from 2012 to 2016 - a package consisting of matches Friday night and Sunday night. Four other packages are held by Canal. Channels will be dominated by football coverage. beIN Sports 1 HD will focus on live football throughout the year with prominent Premier League and content from club channels Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs. Other live coverage will come from Serie A, Ligue 1, Major League Soccer (MLS), Brazilian national league (Paulistao & BrasileirÃÆ'Â £ o), as well as major trophy tournaments such as FA Cup, Coppa Italia and Coupe de la Ligue.

In 2018, BEIN Sports executives have been investigating rival television networks outside Q, broadcasting sporting events in the MENA region where beIN Sports has distribution rights, and believes that the company is supported by the Saudi government as part of Qatar's diplomatic crisis.
