Adam Daniel Galinsky (born 1969) is an American social psychologist known for his research on leadership, power, negotiation, decision making, diversity, and ethics. She is Vikram S. Pandit Professor of Business and Chairman of the Management Division at Columbia Business School.

With Maurice Schweitzer, he is one of the authors of Friends and Enemies: When to Work Together, When to Compete, and How to Succeed in Both (2015).

Early life and education

Adam Galinsky is Dr.'s son. David Galinsky and Dr. Maeda Galinsky, professor of psychology and social work, respectively, at the University of North Carolina. In high school, she lives with family in Indonesia. His twin brother is documentary filmmaker Michael Galinsky. Adam has collaborated with his brother as a producer in Michael's films.

Galinsky graduated cum laude with B.A. in Psychology from Harvard University. He received his M.A. and a PhD in Social Psychology from Princeton University.

Research and academic teaching

Prior to moving to Columbia Business School, Professor Galinsky's position included the Assistant Professorship of Management at the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah and served as Morris and Alice Kaplan Professor of Ethics and Decisions in Management.

Galinsky has published over 190 scientific articles, chapters, and teaching cases in social management and psychology. On April 15, 2015, the index was 56 and the i10 index was 117, with 12,322 quotations.

Awards and acknowledgments

Galinsky twice won the Core Course Leaders training award at Kellogg to teach excellence on leadership topics. He also received a teaching award at Princeton University. In 2011, Professor Galinsky received a Distinguished Research Associate of Ver Steeg at Northwestern University, given only to one faculty member each year throughout the university.
