Homestead Technologies is a web hosting company based in Burlington, Massachusetts. Homestead offers its members the WYSIWIG tools to build and publish their own websites. Since its establishment in 1997 as a free service provider, Homestead has expanded its service coverage to include online marketing, paid search advertising, SEO tools, and e-commerce services. Homestead.com, launched in June 1998 allows Internet users to build feature-rich websites by integrating and customizing content, focusing on small businesses and e-commerce and related services, such as online business consultations, lists and directories. Homestead was chosen five times as the winner of the "Top 100 Web Sites" Website Awards: 100 best sites on the Internet "in April 2000, July 1999, April 1999, June 1998 and March 1998. Homestead is a pioneer that brings technology build-your- own-website, but today many other companies offer similar services, such as companies like Squarespace, Weebly, Wix, and Squarebob.

Founded in October 1997 by Justin S. Kitch and Thai Bui in Menlo Park, California, Homestead quickly made the rounds for accessibility and ease of use. Her drag-and-drop SiteBuilder platform allows users without prior knowledge of coding or web programming to create a fully functional website for personal, educational or business use. Homestead is mostly aimed at small business owners, nonprofit administrators, retailers, and fans, unlike competitors like Angelfire and Yahoo! GeoCities, which targets more ordinary users. In October 2003, Homestead Technologies launched PhotoSite, a photo sharing service and web hosting tailored to amateur digital photography. In March 2005, PhotoSite was sold to United Online.
In December 2007, Homestead was acquired by Intuit software and tax preparation giant for $ 170 million to improve its web hosting offerings. On August 16, 2012, Intuit announced that Homestead will be purchased by Burlington (Mass.) Endurance International Group web hosting company.
